SYRACUSE, NY – This Friday night will mark the second and final event for the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) at the Autodrome Edelweiss Speedway. It will also mark another stop on the lucrative Northwood 2 Construction/LaSalle Motorsports Canadian Sprint Car Series with the A-Main paying $1,725 to win and $375 to start.
Back in June, Tommy Wickham won the exciting event over Brian McDonald, Lee Ladouceur, Alain Bergeron and Steve Poirier. All these stars will be on hand along with current point leader Justin Barger, with Lance Yonge, Jeff Cook, Tim Kelly, Michael Parent, Chuck Hebing, Anthony Cain, Justin Harris, Daniel Lampron, Rick and April Wilson, Sylvain Erickson, Doug Emery, Chris Jones, Tyler Rand, Paul Pekkonen, and more.
Barger has a very slim lead over two-time champ Yonge, with Poirier, Wickham and Cook rounding out the top five for the battle of the Lucas Cup. TheCanadian Sprint Car Series points are also very tight with Poirier having just a one-point lead over Bergeron with Cook, Yonge and Barger following.
A special recognition will be held for ESS’ own Normand Beaudreault who was seriously injured back on June 12th. Normand is now home and recovering nicely and hoping to be at a race track soon.
